Seeking a Worthy Opponent

It’s time for a new semester. As it goes, I’m still having doubts about the school at which I chose to study. There are times when I feel like I place minimal effort into an assignment and still receive a perfect (or near perfect) grade. I actually am finding that my undergrad degree in communications was much harder and more intensive than this master’s in information studies.  I’m maintaining my 4.0 quite easily.  My beef with the program is this: in many ways I feel like I’m back in high school because of the coddling done by the professors. I don’t know if it’s a result of the popularity  of the school media specialist track or if this is the way of all ML(I)S programs.  But since I’m fairly well embedded in the program at this point, it would be a very, very, very large financial loss to transfer schools.  Most of the iSchools only accept 3 class transfers, and right now I’m heading into my 7th and 8th classes.  Maybe what I need to do what I can over the next year until my contract is completed, and then move back to Florida (ugh!) to complete the thesis and degree in person.  The key is going to be the thesis. I think that is where I will be challenged.
