A day in which my love of IA meets my love of Gapingvoid Art. I opened my inbox to find today’s Gapingvoid cartoon themed as “Navigate the Chaos.”

Navigate the Chaos by Gapingvoid (support him by buying a print!)

In so many ways that cartoon reminds me of The Understanding Group, it’s logo, and what their company does for others. I then checked my Twitter feed to find the Happy World IA Day 2015 video posted. It also features a tiny boat on an information tidal wave, where we all in that boat together.

And then I read Louis Rosenfeld’s Medium post, Everyday IA. He explains how he applied IA principals to operating his publishing business, organizing Enterprise UX conference, and how these structures foster conversations. Louis asserts:

Information architecture literacy is required for anyone who designs anything.

Everyone needs an IA in their life to help navigate the chaos and make the world better. Only by working together, can we even begin to untangle the information web we created.

Yep. Most certainly a happy running theme for the day. That’s a good way to kick off World IA┬áDay 2015, if you ask me. (Not able to attend a free World IA day event in person? There are a number of cities that are live streaming their events.)
